      Read an article on anxiety and general anxiousness yesterday. It spoke to some ways to combat that anxiousness. One of the ways to get outside of your own anxious feelings is to just do/make/perform the thing that you’re struggling with. Do it poorly, even. This helps you to move into action, rather than staying in your anxious state. Doing it poorly lends you to learning from that mistake and doing it better the next time. It’s much easier to do something a second time better once you’ve done it wrong the first time; and the incentive to do better will motivate you, rather than being being fueled by the anxiety (maybe this helped you forget about the anxious feelings altogether? Problem solved. Thanks, article!)

      In my daily life, I constantly look for ways to incrementally improve. It’s said that if you improve any one thing by 1% each day, you’ll have improved 37x more in a year’s time.

      Imagine if we did that with our marriages, friendships and relationships with our children? Our faith?

          3rd F – Faith. Belief in something bigger than yourself. We have a lot of Christian men in the group and affiliations with churches at different AOs, but it is important that all men feel welcome.

          Q discussed “spending” vs “investing”. Spending is a transactional term. You give money to get a thing. Or you give time to get money. It is focused on a deliverable or getting to the next step.

          Investing is a relational term. You put money in to an account with a long-term vision. You invest time with your family to build them up. You pour energy into a hobby or skill to improve.

          F3 is the same way. You can come spend some time and energy, talk to some guys, and head out. There is nothing wrong with that. But there is another level that can happen at an AO when Qs are spending time developing workouts and the PAX are investing in each other. We have a couple of 3rd-F initiatives across F3 Chattanooga, and you are each encouraged to participate as you can. But we also believe some of the most effective community impact can happen at the AO level with a need seen in the immediate neighborhood that gets addressed by a small group of HIM. If you know of an opportunity for service reach out to an AOQ.

                Burpee Apocalypse with hill running in between rounds. Start at the bottom, 10 burpees, Bernie up hill and hold Al Gore waiting for the six. 9 burpees at top, mosey down hill, hold Al Gore waiting on the six. Continue pattern until finishing with 1 burpee at top of hill.

                Core work: Alternating plank (high or low) with Flutter kicks. 30 seconds each exercise nonstop. Completed 3 rounds.

                Unilateral Work:

                1. Curb Merkins- laying parallel with curb and one hand on top of curb, perform 10 merkins then switch directions/arm on curb and 10 more merkins
                2. Curtsy Lunges- 10 each leg

                  6/17/18 Matt Heiden My and Wakes friend left this world. This post was in honor of him. We remember our friends and loved ones that have gone before us by remembering good memories with them. When planning this I reached out to Wake (Sean Bevis) Matt was always in great shape completing marathons but despised running and crushed sit ups and sit ups. We ran non, did over 3500 pushups and almost that many reps of sit-ups and ab reps. I personally had gotten close to know Matt when he was president of the chattanooga water ski club. I was new to board and his leadership and his presence I always looked up to.                     It was an honor to have 2 recently commissioned officers from West Point with the PAX this morning. When it came time to name the FNGs officers, after a couple of minutes in the center it turned out Woody was no FNG after all. As far as the other officer, Prairie Dog, he never made it to the center as he was engaged in other activities, but he received an F3 name none the less
